All of our projects are carefully scheduled to meet the tenant’s completion date. Having enough time to complete them within the general contactor’s schedule is quite another thing.
Environmental Contracting was awarded this project based upon meeting the client’s budget and, more importantly, their move-in date. There never seemed to be enough time, and this job was a monster in that there were alignment issues that had to be coordinated with the other finish trades: stone, glass, and drywall, to name a few.
Part of our job is insuring that the transition points between our woodwork and the other finishes looks right architecturally and happens smoothly; that the rhythm between each of them blends well or, as a friend of mine puts it, “ It’s all got to sing.”
When we looked up at the end of the job we were gratified. We successfully captured the designer’s intent. Getting projects done on time is a measure of cooperation. This one was a challenge!
